Arrival/Free Play

**Welcome Friends as they arrive for the day**

• Put shoes, coats, and belongings away.

• Small amount of Free Play (see below) while we wait for everyone to arrive followed by a quick clean-up of our mess.

• Group circle: say “Hello” to friends/stretch & shake our wiggles out/get ready to start our day.

Cooking Class,

Super Science -or- Sensory Stimulation

• Children will participate in a Science, Sensory, or Cooking activity related to the current preschool theme.  We will encourage children to use all of their senses to explore and learn.

9:30-9:50am

Free Play

• Children freely choose what they would like to play with in the playroom. They may play independently or with friends.

9:50–10:00am

Clean-up

Restroom

Wash hands

• All children will work together as a team to help pick-up and put away any toys that may be out.

• Any child needing to go potty will use the restroom.

• All children will wash their hands in preparation for snack time.

10:00–10:15am

• Children will sit down together and have a healthy snack.

• Snack will always include a fruit or veggie.

• We will use this time to learn and practice good table manners. Children will also learn what is considered appropriate/inappropriate table behavior and what is okay for discussions while eating.

10:15-10:35am

• Children will participate in an art project relating to our weekly preschool topic as outlined in my preschool program. We will use a variety of materials and our imaginations to create our masterpieces.

• During this time, we will sing songs, do finger plays, and dance/move to music -or- play an active game together as a group.  Anything that get the kids moving and shakes the sillies out!

10:45-10:55am

Math, Dramatic Play  -or- Social Development

• Children will engage in Math activities, a Social Development activity -or- Dramatic/Pretend Play as a group.

10:55–11:25am

(If there is only a slight rain, we will still go out)

Indoor Activities

• Children will play outside in the backyard to get rid of pent up energy.

• We may also go for a walk or walk to the park to play.

• If the weather is too bad, we will stay indoors and engage in activities with movement involved for large motor development and also to help us get our energy out so we are ready for the rest of our school day.

11:25–11:40am

Preschool Learning & Fine Motor Development

• During this time, we will work on Colors, Shapes, Letters, Numbers -or- an Enrichment Sheet (sometimes we may also do flash cards).

11:40-11:50am

Story Time and/or Flash Cards/Reading

• During this time we will read stories related to our preschool theme, do flash cards and/or work on our pre-reading/letter sounds.  Every other Thurs, we will have Show & Tell during this time.

11:50am-12:00

[3:50-4:00pm]

Free Play/Departure

• This is a time to wind down from our school day and socialize with friends while waiting to get picked up. Children can freely choose what they would like to do or play with in the playroom. They may play independently or with friends.

• We may also get out puzzles & magnets at this time.
